Ontario Chargeback is an independent private company, not a government agency, bank, or law firm. We trace lost funds and build recovery cases, but we do not provide investment or financial advice, and recovery outcomes can never be guaranteed.

What we do

We follow your money, every step of the way.

Every case starts with one question: where did your funds go? We trace the complete path your money took, document every wallet, account, and transaction it passed through, and build the evidence needed to pursue recovery.

Card payment tracing

We trace where your money went after a card payment, through processors, merchant accounts, and receiving banks, then build the dispute file to recover it.

Crypto fund tracing

We follow your cryptocurrency across wallets, exchanges, and mixing services using on-chain analysis to identify where your funds ended up and who controls them.

Wire transfer tracking

We reconstruct the path of bank wires and transfers, including correspondent banks, intermediary accounts, and final recipients, to locate your funds and support recovery claims.

Evidence and escalation

A complete fund trail, including every transaction, wallet address, and account your money passed through, organized into a case file that banks, exchanges, and authorities can act on.

About Ontario Chargeback

Fund trails go cold fast. We help you trace while it still counts.

Every transaction leaves a trace, but those traces fade. Exchanges purge records, wallets go dormant, and platforms disappear. Our analysts move quickly to follow your funds through every hop before the trail disappears.

We are deliberately narrow: fund tracing, evidence preparation, and recovery support. Nothing else.

Crypto Fund TracingCase Study

Adam

Client Profile: 34-year-old software developer from Toronto. Invested $47,000 CAD in Bitcoin over six months, transferred to a platform called "EliteTrade" promising 12% monthly returns.
Incident Summary: After four months of consistent "profits" displayed on the dashboard, Adam requested a withdrawal of $52,000. The platform froze his account, citing a "security review," then went offline entirely.
Tracing Methodology: We obtained Adam's transaction hashes from his personal wallet, then used blockchain analysis to follow the BTC through three intermediate wallets. The funds were consolidated into a single address, then transferred to a major exchange.
Findings: The receiving exchange account was linked to a cluster of 14 other scam platforms. We identified the KYC-verified owner and compiled a full evidence package for the exchange's fraud team and law enforcement.
Current Status: Exchange account frozen. Case referred to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Adam's evidence file is complete and ready for civil recovery proceedings.
Card Payment TracingCase Study

Igor

Client Profile: 58-year-old small business owner from Mississauga. Charged $3,200 CAD on his Visa card for a "premium marketing package" from a company called "LocalBoost SEO."
Incident Summary: Igor paid for a 12-month SEO service. After one month of no deliverables, the company stopped responding. The website domain expired, and the phone number was disconnected.
Tracing Methodology: We traced the payment through the card network to the acquiring bank, then identified the merchant account holder. The account was registered to a shell company with a virtual office address.
Findings: The merchant account had 23 other chargeback requests in 90 days, well above the 1% threshold. We documented the pattern of fraud and prepared a chargeback file with the card network.
Current Status: Chargeback approved. Igor received a full refund of $3,200. The merchant account was terminated by the acquiring bank.

Khalid

Client Profile: 41-year-old engineer from Ottawa. Wired $18,500 CAD to an offshore broker called "PacificFX" after being promised guaranteed returns on forex trades.
Incident Summary: After depositing, Khalid was pressured to add more funds. When he refused and requested his money back, the broker claimed a "system error" and stopped all communication.
Tracing Methodology: We reconstructed the wire path through two correspondent banks, identified the beneficiary account, and traced subsequent outgoing transfers to a cryptocurrency exchange.
Findings: The beneficiary account received wires from 31 other victims totaling $580,000. Funds were converted to USDT and moved to cold storage. We mapped the full flow and identified the exchange account.
Current Status: Evidence package submitted to the exchange and to the Ontario Securities Commission. Khalid's case is part of a multi-victim complaint under review.
